Christmas time!

Its my fav season of the year. Its not the deco, or the air of festivities or the pressies. Its that time of the year where I am awed just by the feeling of Christmas time. This year, I barely felt Christmas right up to about a week ago. Work has consumed my time and my being. Its unhealthy, but I still do it. Not an addiction, but something I've given to accepting with much resignation.
Very important Christmas lesson this year: Be in control of your emotions. Never let it stray to a point where you cannot get it back. * bride of Christ concept*
Presents I bought this year:
1. Jean Paul Gaultier perfume for me mommy
2. Track pants for my sister - the idea was to get a personalized gift :)
3. M&S cookies for Pat
3. Cranberries yougurt coated for Rosey
OMG! Nothing else. I felt like I spent all my savings
Lesson of the year: Honesty is NEVER the best policy. Its a lie people tell you so they know what you really mean. Even if your friend is competitive or bitchy, if it doesn't concern you, just carry on with life. Everyone's not meant to be Mother Theresa. There's a reason why Mother Theresa had a ministry amongst the poor in India. Only survival matters.
I found my Gingerbread man again. He's now been a year with me. Covered in whitish stuff.. which I like to think is snow in his land. Enough said.
Blessed Christmas!. May things be blessed in the Look Like Busy realm.

A month later and trash talking

Its almost a month and a half in the Look Like Busy realm. I list the stooopid things I have done so far: -

  • wrote with a red ink pen on an original writ - because I literally took my boss's words "Amend in red ink and file into court" to mean just that;
  • filed in written subs and bundle of authorities without highlighting it to Dagang 8. Thank God Y.A. Dato Abdul Aziz is a nice man;
  • filed written subs into the Court of Appeal without signing it - had to drive back all the way to Putrajaya with an apology letter;
  • assumed that mentions in Shah Alam Sessions Courts begin in the afternoon - nearly got a matter struck out if not for the First Defendant's sols having undertaken to inform us *phew*
  • sitting next to June Low when she called out to Ragunath Kesavan "Hullo Uncle" - she obviously had huge-ass cataracts and had mistaken him for her friend's father.

Work is fun. Its tough, exhausting, excruciatingly annoying and time consuming - but I am learning new things everyday. My boss has a mountain of patience and a wealth of wit. I am truly blessed :)

My boss's secretary gives me frequent heart attacks and stress migraines, but I heard I will be getting my own secretary soon - so there is HOPE!

June Low - my boss's chamby has retired and is moving to Malik Imtiaz. I shall miss her and the trash talks she used to indulge me in. But I have other colleagues like Pat and Rosey and Anushka on my floor to trash talk to.

I am teaching Sunday School today - so much for penance.. :) I should marry a pastor. That way I can make money and not feel guilty cuz I'd be supporting a pastor. How noble.

Haryati Deepak is hiring. Now!! Why now??!!! I am settled where I am. I only hoped to stay til I found another place. But now, I cannot move. I love my environment in the Look Like Busy realm. Maybe God has other plans for me.

21.8.2009

It was a significant day in the Look Like Busy realm because it was the day my name was inserted into the Rolls.

My mover, Andrew Khoo was a powerhouse. He made my speech so much more awesome better, over my copied-off-Bats version. 1Peng was my photographer and stood by me the whole day. The judge singled me out and acknowledged my noble efforts of merging IT with law.

Someone once asked me whether after today I'd regret my decision of ever joining the Look Like Busy realm? My answer was an instant no.

For after all, I enjoy looking like busy :)
